Having watched the glorious summer weather come and go over August the County Championship made a comeback. The weather would again play a big part in this round. I’m writing my round up on Day 4 but the overs bowled will tell the tale of the weather across the country. I can’t work out which ball was being used in this round but in searching I’ve come across these words from Rob Key when the ball was used in the early rounds – “It’s been fantastic. You see what four day cricket is meant to be”. Really? Little opportunity for the bowlers and draws and runs galore? I truly hope his wish that the ball one used full time in County Cricket doesn’t happen! On to the cricket, I’m going with the matches that are finished as I write first.
