I haven’t been able to stick to a Top 10 here. The more photos I take the more I enjoy it, especially when it comes to cricket. It’s such a thrill when I realise I have a shot of bails flying 0r of a catch being taken – I’ve posted lots of photos in my various blogs but here is a selection of my favourites
- Essex v Derbyshire at the County Ground. Aaron Beard’s first of many to come, County Cricket wicket – Bowling Billy Godleman.
2. Essex v Kent – at The County Ground – Royal London ODI. James Foster Stumping Sam Billings from the bowling of Ashar Zaidi.
3. England v Sri Lanka – at Edgbaston – Royal London ODI – Alex Hales on his way to a century.
4. Essex v Kent at the County Ground – Alastair Cook in Essex mode, he always has a smile on his face when he’s playing for his county.
5. Essex v Kent at The County Ground. Sam Northeast who scored 166 and James Tredwell with 124 as Northeast reached his century.
6. England v Pakistan – Old Trafford – That low ball from Mohammad Amir which finally got Alastair Cook out having made 105.
7. England v Pakistan – Edgbaston – The England bowlers had been struggling then Stuart Broad bowled at the stumps and took Asad Shafiq’s stump out of the ground.
8. Nottinghamshire v Essex – At Trent Bridge – Royal London ODI Qtr Final. Ravi Bopara bowls Greg Smith in a losing fight.
9. England v Pakistan at the Oval – Having made 108 in England’s first innings, Moeen Ali was caught by Sarfraz Ahmed , who did juggle the ball a tad, from the bowling of Yasir Shah.
10. Northants v Notts – at Edgbaston – Semi-Final of The T20 Blast – A very different innings or Alex Haleshe faced 2 balls from Rory Kleinveldt and was out on the second for a duck.
11.Essex v Glamorgan at The County Ground – Ryan ten Doeschate on his way to a personal tally of 117 taking Essex to the batting bonus point they needed to win the County Championship Division 2 and promotion to Division 1.
12. England v Pakistan – Lords – Mohammad Amir – Mohammad Amir bowling Stuart Broad for 1 as Pakistan were on their way to a victory.
13. England v Pakistan at the Oval – Steven Finn bowled by Sohail Khan who took 5 for 68 in England’s first innings.
14. Essex v Glamorgan at the County Ground. Tom Westley catches Jacques Rudolph from the bowling of Graham Napier.
15. Kent v Essex at The Spitfire Ground – Graham Napier lifting the Division 2 winners trophy. 2016 was his last season before retirement he finished with 490 first class wickets and was instrumental in Essex’s bid for promotion.
