Work meant I missed most of the live action during the week, but here’s a quick summary of what happened in matches 5-10.

Match 5 – Peshawar Zalmi v Multan Sultas – Wahab Riaz won the toss for Pehsawar and put Multan in to bat. Peshawar won by 6 wickets

Multan Sultans – 193 for 4 – James Vince top scored with 84 from 55 balls, a strike rate of 152.73. A beautiful batsman to watch he’s had a few opportunities with England but has failed to get past his standard beautifully played 30 on most occasions.

Peshawar Zalmi – 197 for 4 – The total set by Multan seemed a hard one to chase, the clue to the win for Peshawar is in the strike rates. While Tom Kohler-Cadmore top scored with 53 from 32 at a strike rate of 165.62, the winning factors were the three batsmen with strike rates above 200 – Sherfane Rutherford with 15 from 6 balls at 250.00. Shoaib Malik with 11 from 5 balls at 220.00 and Haider Ali with 24 from 8 balls at 300.00.

Match 6 – Karachi Kings v Islamabad United – Shadab won the toss for Islamabad and put Karachi in to bat. Islamabad won by 5 wickets

Karachi Kings – 196 for 3 – Sharjeel top scored in the game with 105 from 59 balls, a strike rate of 177.97, Babar scored 62 from 54 balls.

Islamabad United – 197 for 5 – Iftikhar top scored with 49 from 37 balls but it was Alex Hales who really kick started things with 46 from 21, a strike rate of 219.05.

Match 7 – Peshawar Zalmi – Quetta Gladiators – Wahab won the toss for Peshawar and put Quetta in to bat. Pehsawar won by 3 wickets

Quetta Gladiators – 198 for 7 – Sarfaraz top scored with 81 from 40 balls, a great strike rate of 202.50! Mahmood again bowled well with 3 for 34 from his 4 overs.

Peshawar Zalmi – 202 for 7 – Haider top scored with 50 from 29 balls, but again it was the following players who saw the game won, .Sherfane Rutherford with 36 from 18, a strike rate of 200.00 and Wahab with 20 from 8, a strike rate of 250.00

Star man – HAIDER ALI

Match 8 – Lahore Qalanders v Multan Sultans – Rizwan won the toss for Multan and put Lahore in to bat. Multan won by 7 wickets

Lahore Qalanders – 157 for 6 – Hafeez top scored with 60 from 35 balls, a strike rate of 171.43. Carlos Brathwaite took 2 for 20 from his 4 overs

Multan Sultans – 159 for 3 – Rizwan top scored with 76 from 49 – he really is going from strength to strength! Soqaib Maqsood scored 61 from 41 balls and the game was won with 22 balls remaining.

Star Man – RIZWAN

Match 9 – Karachi Kings v Multan Sultans – Babar won the toss for Karachi and put Multan in to bat. Karachi won by 7 wickets

Multan Sultans – 195 for 6 – James Vince top scored with 45 from 29 balls, Rizwan added another 43 to his tally.

Karachi Kings – 198 for 3.– Babar top scored with 90 from 60 balls, a strike rate of 150.00. Joe Clarke’s contribution of 54 from 26 balls propelled Karachi to the win with 7 balls remaining.

Star Man – BABAR

Match 10 – Peshawar Zalmi v Islamabad United – Wahab won the toss for Peshawar and put Islmabad in to bat. Peshawar won by 6 wickets.

Islamabad United – 118 All Out – In a poor batting performance Alex Hales still managed to score 41 fro 27 balls. Saqib Mahmood took 3 for 12 in 2.1 overs

Peshawar Zalmi – 122 for 4 – 2 early wickets made this run chase harder than it should have been – Tom Kohler-Cadmore top scored with 46 from 46 balls, Haider Ali contributed 36 from 18 to ensure the game was won with 17 balls ramaining.T
