England v India – The Edgbaston T20

Having booked an ODI at Edgbaston I found myself travelling to Edgbaston for 40 overs of cricket, that actually lasted for just 37 overs. This is going to be largely about sharing my photos than a write up of the match. England captain Jos Buttler won the toss and put India in to bat. This was a game that was […]

England v India – Ageas Bowl – Day 4

Right, let’s see how this internet works this evening, hopefully it won’t make me want to throw my laptop out the window! Tomorrow I go home so should be back to normal wi-fi wise, but until then, here I go! I’m not even going to try to add photos here, I’ll do that at home. Day 4 of this test […]

England v India – Ageas Bowl – Day 3

PHOTOS TO FOLLOW Day 3 of the 4th test saw another utterly glorious day at The Ageas Bowl, today is the first of September, Autumn supposedly, not in Southampton, the sun shone in a largely blue sky all day. India had finished their innings with a lead of 27 runs, how important would that be in this low scoring game?  What I’m going to type next may need some time to digest, England batted…….. ALL DAY!  That was what was needed for the home team to salvage this game.  The 2 openers Alastair Cook and Keaton Jennings were under some pressure with averages of 16 and 15 respectively. Cook had scored runs against Pakistan but this was proving to be […]

England v India – Trent Bridge – Day 5

There was a lot of angst online about Nottinghamshires intention to charge £10 for this surprise Day 5, I’d bought my tickets at the end of last summer so my £10 was long gone, and there was no way I was missing the end of this test match. Overnight the powers that be at Trent Bridge had a rethink and […]

England v India – Trent Bridge – Day 4

So, tomorrow I’m going to Day 5 of the Test match at Trent Bridge!  Those aren’t words I thought I’d be typing or even considering yesterday, or even at lunch time today! I managed to arrive at the ground with everything I took with me, so was fully prepared for whatever the weather chose to throw at me, that was […]

England v India – Trent Bridge – Day 3

My day didn’t start too well, I travelled into Nottingham Station by tram again, chatting to a couple as I went, I got off and felt  bit light as I walked along the platform, I’d left a bag on the tram, with everything I needed to protect me from the elements, umbrella, Kahoolawe, hat, sunglasses, oh, and lunch!  Luckily I […]

England v India – Trent Bridge – Day 1

After an unsuccessful test for me at Lord’s I was looking forward to the third test at Trent Bridge.  I was lucky enough to have received a ticket for the TMS v Tailenders match at Derbyshire’s 3aaa’s Ground.  My daughter had been visiting from Paris and had a train to catch in London, I decided to drive her into Stratford […]

England v India – Edgbaston – The Finale!

And so we came to the finale of this intriguing test match,  I had another horror night in my hotel, I have no idea why people coming from a different time zone can’t understand that people want to be asleep at 3am in the morning!  But, slamming doors and shouting for 2 hours at that time at least meant I […]

England v India – Edgbaston Day 3

My journey to the ground for Day 3 was seamless, I felt like trying to tell those paying to park that they really didn’t need to!  I had empty seats around me, they must’ve heard about me!  But had a few good exchanges of views throughout the day. England had the opportunity to get runs on the board and set […]

England v India – Edgbaston Day 2

My morning had a much better start than Day 1, I drove to the road I was parking in rather than driving miles away from the ground! It was a much better plan.  My seat was in the Scriveners Opticians Stand, I knew this would be a good seat because I’d picked it when I visited the ground to watch […]

England v India – Edgbaston Day 1

England’s 1000th Test and their first against India this summer started today at Edgbaston.  Most of the talk before the match, on the England front,  revolved around the inclusion of Adil Rashid, a man who opted out of playing red ball cricket for his county, Yorkshire, in 2018.  He goes into this series with a good deal of pressure on […]

Essex v India Day 3

This final day of the warm up match between Essex and India was all a bit surreal.  The day started with Paul Walter and James Foster at the crease.  Foster is clearly a very experienced cricketer who did play for England, if not as many times as he really should.  Walter on the other hand has only 10 First Class […]
