365 Sporting Days

Now then I have something of a confession to make before I get writing – yes, I was at The Oval for the afternoon, but I didn’t see all that much cricket – there, it’s out there!

I wasn’t too well in the morning but was meeting a friend for lunch in the pavilion and knew this would be my last visit to the Oval this year.  I couldn’t resist in spite of feeling under the weather.

We met in the Long Room then made our way up to the restaurant – one I didn’t know existed!  I can recommend a visit, the room is delightful and the food very tasty.  We had a roast dinner and a very naughty desert – no calories I’m sure!

There were several tables looking out over the ground and we could see the play from a ‘row’ back – a perfect way to partake of lunch! The food was lovely as was the company.

We sat at the top of the pavilion after lunch and managed to watch a few overs and as you can see, take a few photos.

I’ve thoroughly enjoyed being a Surrey member this summer, it’s a great place to watch cricket – the staff are all incredibly friendly as are the other members, I’ve been made to feel very welcome.

I’ve already sorted out my Surrey and England membership for next year – I was able to pick my seat for England games in the OCS Stand – that means I get first chance to buy my seat.  All formats of Surrey cricket are included and wow you get to use the beautiful pavilion.  This will set me back a mere £225 next year – a total no brainer!

Just a quick one this time – the next 2 are likely to be the same 🙂
