Karachi made a dream start when Tom Banton was trapped LBW by Amir for a Golden Duck, he then bowled the young star Haider Ali in the same over for 4. Peshawar found themselves on 4 for 2. Kamran Akmal was despatched by Aamer Yamn for just 4 and Peshawar were 10 for 3, a nightmare start to match Karachi’s dream. Old hand Shoaib Malik ensured some respectability for Peshawar with 68 from 55 balls. Amir finished with 4 for 25 from his 4 overs, when he’s in form, he’s definitely in form!

In reply Sharjeel Khan lasted just 4 balls, mirroring Peshawar’s start in many ways Karahci were 4 for 1. The similarity ended there due to a partnership of 101 between Babar and Alex Hales. I got home in time to see them both at the crease, what a delight to this Karachi fans’ eyes. I confess Yasir Shah, one of the smiliest men in cricket is a favourite of mine, he took the wicket of both Hales, who made 49 from 27 and Cameron Delport when he tried to sky a ball when he was on just 2. That put Karachi on 107 for 3. Chadwick Walton tried to hit Brathwaite out of the ground but was caught for 22, that put Karachi on 147 for 4. With 4 needed from 12 balls Babar hit the winning runs to finish on 70 from 59. The man is quite literally a superstar!

I have to pick 2 Star Men today, Amir with his 4 for 25 set the game up and Babar finished the job for Karachi with his 70 from 59.
